How Two Survivors Sparked a Movement

Jennifer Kramer and Amy Nordhues, both survivors of therapy abuse, met online after living very different lives and coping with their trauma in opposite ways. Amy publicly shared her story in a memoir, while Jennifer hid hers for years until hearing Amy speak on a podcast. Their connection was immediate, and together they recognized the urgent need to expose therapy abuse.

Jennifer Kramer

Director | Producer

Jennifer is the youngest daughter of legendary filmmaker Stanley Kramer and actress/producer Karen Sharpe.

As a child, Jennifer was cast in roles on television and film, but found her real identity later—acting challenging roles on the stage after training at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon acting program and the New Actors Workshop in New York.

Jennifer is also a classically trained pianist who has trained with teachers from Juilliard, UCLA and Cal State Northridge. She has performed in concert Halls in Los Angeles, been a finalist in concerto competitions and is a self-taught composer.

Jennifer has now stepped behind the camera, writing and directing her own films. Her debut short film NAKUSA travelled the United States, Europe, and Canada to great critical acclaim winning numerous awards and winning the approval of Billy Bob Thornton, Diane Warren and Paul Raci. Jennifer’s debut feature, titled LIVING PIECES, is currently in development. It is a large-scale musical which has already attached one Oscar-winning actor and a creative team that have worked on such films as KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON, INCEPTION and BEETLEJUICE.

#TherapyToo holds a deeply personal place in Jennifer’s heart, and she feels deeply honored to be the director of such a vitally important project.
