John Hopper
Survivor
John Hopper is a survivor of therapy abuse, a seasoned tech executive, and a mental health advocate who is turning personal tragedy into a force for change.
After losing two of his three children to suicide and later discovering that a trusted therapist had exploited him while he was seeking trauma treatment, John was diagnosed with PTSD and began a deep, ongoing journey of healing. His case led to the therapist losing her license and is now central to a larger legal effort seeking accountability from the institutions that enabled her. John brings a rare combination of lived
experience, professional credibility, and systemic insight.
As he works toward a master's degree in counseling, he's committed to exposing abuse within the mental health system, helping other survivors find their voice, and driving institutional change.
He splits his time between work, advocacy, and travel with his two golden retrievers-seeking nature, connection, and truth wherever the road leads.
