Dr. Patricia S. Dixon

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Patricia S. Dixon is a licensed clinical psychologist, professor, and author whose work is guided by one core belief: that every person who seeks help deserves to receive it from someone who is both highly skilled and genuinely compassionate.

With a career spanning clinical practice, academic training, media engagement, and community service, Dr. Dixon has established herself as a trusted and versatile voice in the field of mental health.

She is the founder of Manatee Associates of Counseling & Assessment in Palmetto, Florida — a group practice of seven clinicians that provides therapy and psychological assessments to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, and serves as a training site for graduate psychology students. Her dedication to shaping the next generation of clinicians also takes her into the classroom, where she teaches graduate courses in diversity, group therapy, and grief, and mentors students as they develop their professional identities.

Dr. Dixon's clinical approach is integrative and deeply human. She draws on talking therapy, coaching, and sound therapy to meet clients where they are, honoring the full complexity of their identities and lived experiences. She believes that feeling "stuck" — in a relationship, a career, or within oneself — is not a permanent condition, but an invitation to rediscover the strength already within.

A recognized expert in the media, Dr. Dixon has been featured in publications including MarthaStewart.com, CNN.com, Verywell Mind, Real Simple, Parade, and Bustle, among many others. She hosts the podcast Healing Mentalit-Tea and co-hosts Relationship Rehab, and is the author of Embrace Your Inner Toddler: A Blueprint for Living Joyfully and co-author of Turning the Page: A Step-by-Step Breakup, Recovery, & Healing Workbook.

Dr. Dixon has served on multiple boards of directors across the Tampa Bay and Chicagoland areas, reflecting a commitment to community that has always run parallel to her clinical work. Whether in a therapy room, a classroom, or a podcast studio, her mission remains the same — to make healing accessible, meaningful, and real.
